Job Description

Reading blueprints: Welders interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine the appropriate welding method and equipment.

Measuring and calculating: Welders calculate and measure the dimensions of parts to be welded.

Repairing: Welders repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers. They also fill and repair holes in metal constructions.

Safety: Welders must be attentive to detail and alert to ensure safety. They must also be able to read safety warnings and guidelines.

Requirements:

Graduation from high school, military schools, vocational school, recognized craftsman apprenticeship program or equivalent. Always attentive to detail and alert to ensure safety. Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
