Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Cleans and sanitizes restrooms.
Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, stripping, scrubbing, shampooing, waxing, buffing, spot cleaning, and vacuuming.
Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials by hand or with the use of powered equipment, replacing liners and cleaning
receptacles as needed.
Observes appearances and conditions of premises and equipment; reports needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions requiring
outside vendor services.
Dust and clean office desks and furniture that are not cluttered.
Dusts blinds, file cabinets, windowsills, and equipment.
Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators in break rooms.
Restock supplies in restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
Maintain janitor closet in a clean, organized and safe manner.
Maintain janitorial equipment in clean, safe and operable condition.
Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
Assist in setting up, arranging, and removing decorations, tables and chairs to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and
meetings.
Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
Operates power equipment such as forklifts, pressure washer, hand and power tools.
Observe all company policies and procedures.
Must be able to work additional hours to support the organization’s needs.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or the Manufacturing Manager.
Requirements:
High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or apprenticeship and at least one (1) year of related experience. Minimal computer skills in the Windows environment required. Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment of the janitorial service. Ability to operate and use janitorial tools, and supplies such as floor buffers, vacuum cleaners, and cleaning compounds and solutions. Forklift certification required; or to be obtained within the initial 90 days of employment. Ability to read and interpret English documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
