Make your application process as simple and fast as you possibly can: Allow candidates to upload their resume or to have their information uploaded from their LinkedIn or other professional profile, then move on to some basic questions or ask for a cover letter or personal statement.

When a candidate is being considered for an interview, tell them right away.
