Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our team. The CNC Machinist will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision aerospace lighting components in accordance with exacting specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes to machine aerospace lighting components.
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to produce parts to tight tolerances.
Perform first article inspections and routine quality checks using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
Monitor machine operation for consistency and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
Make program edits and offsets as necessary to ensure part accuracy.
Maintain clean and organized workspaces in accordance with safety and 5S standards.
Follow all safety, quality, and company policies and procedures.
Collaborate with engineers, quality control, and production teams to resolve manufacturing challenges.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in machining/manufacturing preferred.
1-2 years of CNC machining experience (aerospace or lighting industry experience is a plus).
Proficiency in reading blueprints and using precision measurement tools.
Knowledge of G&M code and the ability to make minor program edits.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality standards is a plus.
Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Standing, bending, and working on machines for extended periods.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
